Best baseball sim?

I have played and replayed most all of the baseball sims over the last 10 years and have found a few that stand out. I think overall the best game to date is the modded version of MVP baseball 2004, and 2005,(for pc). But as far as console baseball sims I think MLB 2k8 is the overall best sim available. I'm not a fan of the MLB 08 or 09 games. I'm probably in the minority here, but I prefer the feel of the 2k games. Anyone else have an opinion on this topic? I would enjoy your comments. :?:

When it comes to MLB 2K9 I didn't like it too much with all the problems it had. MLB 2K7 I played the crap out of it and MLB 2K8 I didn't get into as much because APF 2K8 came out and I loved that game. The BIGS 2 is a very fun game IMO. I know it is not a Simulation but when it comes to the fun factor I can't get enough!

I really like MLB 2k9. HJB have some great sliders and Helios12787 have the great roster with accurate contracts so since then its been a blast for me. these can be found on operationsports under the slider thread for mlb 2k

What I didn't like about MLB 2k9 was that the annoying bugs happened at the worse possible time. Especially in late games when the score was pretty tight. My son loves the game, but I just couldn't get into it. MLB '09 is a great game, but I'm an online gamer first and their online servers are bad. Out of all the MLB games that are released for '09, I think the Bigs 2 will end up being the best. It's not a sim, like Hitman stated, but it is a very fun game.

I also had mlb 2k9 for xbox and pc, but the xbox version I traded in because it was so bad. The pc version mlb 2k9 however plays quie well and I still play it. There is also alot of modding being done on it at EAMODS, and MVP MODS. The pc mlb 2k9 has THE best grahics and comentary of any baseball sim I have seen. But like I said earlier, I IMO the best playing sims are MVP 2004 and 2005.

I have a question about 2K9, can you play as the AA minor leagues in that game? I have 2K7 and thought you could in that game, only to be disappointed. I do like 2K7 but am just wondering that about 2K7.

I can't really say what is the best baseball sim out there as I have only played 2K7 this gen, although my favorite is still All Star Baseball '99 or KGJr Baseball.

I don't believe you can play with minor league teams.
